The three Singita properties in the reserve retain very distinctive characters and charm, allowing guest to choose the design and atmosphere most appealing to their taste. They are guaranteed of the same exceptional experience wherever they stay.

The Singita lodges within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve are:
Boulders Lodge is at the forefront of contemporary African style inspired by the geometry of the rough boulders amidst which it is built. Innovative design and natural hues accentuate a sense of space that flows in from surrounding vistas through floor to ceiling glass walls. Gloriously appointed in dappled shade on the banks of the Sand River. Open, organic fluidity in gentle, neutral and monochrome tones unites in and outdoors to create a comfortable Zen appeal.

Ebony Lodge reflects the gracious charm and quiet opulence of its colonial heritage. Splashes of rich tribal colour lend a vibrant sense of cultural Africa to this romantic setting under ebony trees. Exuding the charm of a traditional homestead, Ebony's combination of warm, rich colours, textures and layers embrace and nurture in a relaxed yet reliable manner. Ebony Lodge is a charming tribute to the opulence of its colonial heritage.

Gloriously appointed high on the banks of the Sand River, and richly adorned with the scarlet fabrics so loved in African culture, this camp has a cosy, immediately intimate camp. Reminiscent of a bohemian past, an expansive library, heavy wooden furniture and banqueting table are all in evidence. A snooze under the shady ebony trees that give the lodge its name, long evenings by the fire, drinks around the friendly bar: all are instantly desirable on entering the camp.

Boulders Lodge is at the forefront of contemporary African style. Inspired by the striking, smooth boulders of its location, the lodge is an innovative design to organically incorporate these granite masses into its structure. The natural air continues with the use of native wood and textured fabrics in earthy colours drawn from the surrounding vistas. Interiors are truly stunning: the height of contemporary minimalism blending seamlessly with the space and temperament of the bush.

From the sparkling chandeliers of the dining room, to the natural subterranean wine cellar; the river view from the sensational outdoor showers to the sensory treatment rooms – everything is designed to offer the utmost decadence and appreciation of surroundings.

Both Ebony and Boulders have 12 luxurious double suites accommodating 24 guests, with their own dedicated spa and gym facilities. ‘Lodge within lodge’ arrangements are possible in both places for small private groups or families.

Castleton Camp is a comfortable, understated farmhouse with all the charm and personality of a lived-in home. Castleton is available for exclusive use only and the ideal option for families. Against the eastern boundary of the Kruger National Park, Singita’s third property on the Reserve is Castleton Camp. Infos/Activities

Guests have access to a wide range of activities, including: Early morning game drives and guided bush walks. Afternoon (into evening) game drives in open Land-Rovers. Community tours into neighbouring villages. Shopping is an option - the African Trading Store stocks a range of African artifacts and curios.

In the Sabi Sand you’ll witness a variety of game-viewing, often with fascinating predator interaction, be it during the golden light of day or while on a starlight spot-lit safari. The Sand River engraves her way through the property and among the riverine flora is where the elsewhere elusive leopards lurk… We are very privileged to enjoy frequent leopard sightings – and because of the caution and respect we’ve shown these alluring cats over the years we’re now able to observe them at close range, as most are unfazed by our presence.

They treat us from time to time to their camouflaged concealment, extraordinary hunting skills and the difficulties and delights of raising playful cubs and teaching them survival skills. In addition to this the Sabi Sand reserve is recognized globally for its diversity of game. Your team of a knowledgeable guide and intuitive tracker will do their utmost to ensure you see a broad spectrum of this balanced ecosystem. Highlights might include prides of lions, parades of elephants, crashes of white rhinos, herds of buffaloes, dazzles of zebras, clans of hyenas, harems of impalas, journeys of giraffes, businesses of mongooses, cheetah, a glimpse of wild dogs, baboons trooping past your suite – to mention just a few!

The opportunities for world-class wildlife photography on this Singita-owned property are unrivaled. The animals are found in a relatively close concentration and the potential to safely advance for quality sightings and images are often available.

The different habitats from open grassland to dense bush and ancient trees attract a vast array of bird life too. You’ll receive a checklist with over 400 species listed for this area alone. But above all you’ll discover a place where time is in tune with nature’s rhythm. A place where you can rest and reconnect with the earth – this cradle of mankind.

It’s a place where the fluttering of a butterfly is as fascinating as the flight of an eagle, where a blade of grass sparkling with dew is as beautiful as the sheen of a leopards coat and where the silence and soft scented air erase irrelevant stresses and strains. The Singita Sabi Sand experience is an authentic one. There are no fences and the animals are free to roam unhindered in this enormous conservancy. We do however guarantee you a dedicated team, so with a dash of luck you will return home with a wealth of memories.
