Davos is the highest town in Europe. Its well-developed infrastructure offers museums, cinema, a casino. Combined with beautiful natural features such as the lake, mountains and side valleys makes the Swiss village world-famous. This dynamic Alpine metropolis, that is full of contrasts, has something to offer for everybody and the promenade is a shoppers paradise. Davos is situated in a high valley, the connection to Klosters needing a pass of only some 70m ascent from Davos Dorf.
Davos is a skiers town with 56 lifts, three mountain trains and 320 kilometres of prepared runs. Top lift at 2,845 meters. The lifts serve 7 mountains (1 east-facing, 2 west-facing, 2 south-facing, 2 skiable on all faces making it possible to stay in the sun all day). Davos is home to an avalanche training center, four sled runs, Dorf and Platz Dorf train stations (being 100m from Parsenn). The longest marked piste is 12km, longest off-piste 24km. There are 13 marked but unprepared and uncontrolled off-piste runs and 140 off-piste tours of various difficulties from advanced to expert. The regional day pass includes all mountains, all buses in Davos and Klosters and trains between Kublis and Glaris. Most advanced skiing is off-piste with a few day tours without walking and unlimited non-walking powder skiing between pistes and resorts; a guide is essential.
