Description

Luxury chalet La Fenice offers stunning views of the Matterhorn and enviable proximity to the ski slopes, surrounded by meadows and waterfalls in summer, and pristine white wilderness in winter. It is located 100m above the well-known ski resort of Cervinia in Italy, an extraordinary location, pairing authentic seclusion with unbeatable access to Cervinia, Zermatt and some of the finest skiing in the Alps.

This location ensures complete privacy, while Cervinia and the ski lifts are just a few minutes away. The views of the Matterhorn and over the Aosta Valley are breathtaking, while the elevated position means that Chalet Fenice is the first property in the Breuil-Cervinia area to be bathed by sunlight in the morning, and the last to catch the rays in the evening.

Spread over six floors, 1,200 square meters of luxury living space, the chalet has seven beautifully-designed ensuite double bedrooms. After a day on the slopes you can spend time in the spa with 10-metre pool and views of the Matterhorn. There is also a sauna, steam room and an outdoor Jacuzzi.

Children and the young at heart will enjoy the games room, with its state-of-the-art entertainment and a luxury cinema. Each ensuite double bedroom is individually designed and has amazing views over the valley or onto the spectacular slopes of the Matterhorn. Infos/Activities

Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of the high-altitude Breuil-Cervinia with its beautiful luxury ski chalets. The ski resort Cervinia sits on the Italian side of the border across from Zermatt. Previous Cervinia was known as Breuil, now well-known as Breuil-Cervinia. It lies at the end of a long valley off the Aosta Valley and is a modern ski resort with contrasting architecture. It is only about 1.5 hours from Turin airport and is one of the best-known winter and summer holiday resorts in the Alps. The panoramic views from the Plateau Rosà at 3480 m, the Piccolo Cervino (Little Cervino) and the Cervino massif are unique, everything resembles a perfect pyramid. Discover 365km of piste.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN BREUIL-CERVINIA

Beside the impressive mountain scenery and the endless possibilities for ski enthusiasts, the entire area in the Aosta Valley offers many lakes, torrents and watercourses. Ideal for holidaymakers in spring and summer, "breuil" means "land of many waters". The historic village is built around a single pedestrian main street with numerous restaurants, shops and an interesting après-ski scene. The Cervinia Museum displays an impressive collection of historical artefacts and mountaineering equipment.

Italian flair, good food and wine, a great ski area, a long alpine history and culture are all good reasons to spend a holiday in Breuil-Cervinia.

SKIING IN BREUIL-CERVINIA

It is linked to Valtournenche and Zermatt in Switzerland with the large ski area of the Matterhorn Ski Paradise covering 365km of piste. Part of the Matterhorn ski paradise (the Italian-Swiss ski area that links Valtournenche, Breuil-Cervinia and Zermatt) can be found on the Plateau Rosa glacier. 217 kilometres of pistes and numerous lifts, including a cable car that runs almost to the summit of Piccolo Cervino - skiing with unlimited possibilities. Cervinia offers a fantastic terrain for beginners, intermediate skiers and snowboarders with blue and light red runs. Due to the regions high altitude best snow conditions are always guaranteed. With its high elevation between 2,050m and 3,480m, Cervinia combined with Zermatt, has the largest on piste summer glacier skiing in the world. Discover the whole area with only one lift pass. Those looking for adventure can try heliskiing and show off their skills outside the authorised pistes. Cross-country skiing is also very popular. The ski season is very long, from November to May. Summer skiing is possible from June to September.

Restaurants & Bars

The art of cooking at La Chandelle restaurant is just as diverse as the Cervinia ski area on the southern face of the Matterhorn. The cuisine emphasises the refined delicacies of northern Italy, specifically Piedmont and Aosta Valley. The spacious restaurant, where meat is cooked on an impressive charcoal grill in the evening, is furnished in a classic, elegant style. In addition to a selection of more traditional favourites, the impressive restaurant also features surprisingly innovative, no-frills creations. While the particularly interesting wine list with a selection of 1,000 wines and homemade grappa is a sight to behold, the food is a delight. La Chandelle is a restaurant full of charm, with large windows overlooking larch forests and the omnipresent, pyramid-shaped Matterhorn always in sight. Nothing less than excellence in this magical setting with the closest ski lift Cretaz just a scenic 10 minute walk away.

Luge restaurant specialises in the aromas and recipes of the Aosta Valley. The rustic restaurant, around 3 kilometers from Breuil-Cervinia and the famed ski area, is located in a calm valley with magnificent panoramic views over the ski resort and is popular with winter sports enthusiasts and locals alike. There is something for every taste on the menu. It starts with the four best-known products of Italy's smallest region, two types of cheese and two types of ham, continues with hearty soups, risotto, polenta Concia, renowned fondues of Valle d'Aosta, all kinds of game and finally - thanks to the young chefs creativity - imaginative seafood. It goes without saying that the sweet treats naturally include Mont Blanc, a chestnut-based dessert. These exceptional delights, accompanied by an excellent wine list, and unrivalled views of the Matterhorn make a visit to restaurant Luge a memorable experience for all the senses.

Wood, just 500 metres from the Cervino Ski Paradise cable car station, is a most remarkable restaurant. Situated at 2,000 metres altitude in the centre of Breuil-Cervinia, the restaurant is mainly clad in wood - partly due to its location, but also as a nod to the origins of the chef, who is originally from Lapland. The restaurant's warm atmosphere is flanked by a fine wine cellar and a cuisine with clear Nordic references. Despite her admiration for Italian cuisine, the female chef presents a surprising but highly successful mix of Scandinavian traditions, Italian flavours and exotic Asian influences. The menu includes reindeer, pasta with venison cheek filling, ravioli with smoked perch, blue lobster soup, elk on hazelnut butter, eel and polenta in peaceful coexistence with the classic Italian dessert pannacotta. With such an extraordinarily eclectic range of dishes, it is hardly surprising that restaurant Wood recently was honored with a Michelin star. An outstanding culinary experience!

There are 57 mountain huts in the entire ski area of Zermatt, Breuil-Cervinia and Valtournenche, with marvellous large sun terraces to stop off at. Linger and enjoy the fantastic mountain scenery and the mostly typical Italian cuisine before returning to the slopes. Those who looking for fine dining at lunchtime, some hot spots are on the Zermatt side.

Après ski: La Champagnerie du Cervin with a large selection of champagne, wine, cocktails and snacks. Après Ski Bar serves cocktails, live DJs, ski movies are shown on a large screen and live gigs take place. Umbrella Bar is a hotspot for both locals and tourists with live music once per week. Ski direct into Lino’s Bar, a family run place with stunning views of the Matterhorn and live music on Sundays.
