Description

Grande Maison, a combination of the main house La Maison and the adjacent owner's residence, is ideal for larger groups seeking for a luxurious alpine stay without compromise. The two adjoining buildings are located in the centre of Montriond's village square, less than 5 minutes' drive from Morzine. Enjoy exceptional holidays in two mountain townhouses.

Magical interiors in this traditional Alpine chalet create an ambience of bygone times. Together, these two luxury chalets can accommodate 16 + 4 holidaymakers in 8 double bedrooms and one bedroom with bunk beds. Here, a highly comfortable, luxurious holiday home has been created. The top floor of La Maison consists of a huge open-plan space divided into three distinct areas: the main salon, the library and a bar area.

William Yeoward's luxurious sofas are oriented to reveal the beautiful view of the Nantaux peak. Next to the drawing room, the library, fitted with several comfortable armchairs and a swing by the first of two fireplaces, offers some privacy from the main room. On the opposite side is the bar area, laid out in a lounge-style around the second fireplace. A full size pool table provides entertainment and another balcony provides a great vantage point to relax and enjoy the view of the village square.

Adjacent to the dining area is the wine cellar, which has a glass floor so you can enjoy views of the fantastic swimming pool below. The kitchen at La Maison is a masterpiece of design. It is divided into two areas, a hidden professional area where your private chef works tirelessly to create fabulous gourmet delicacies and a beautiful front kitchen built around a bespoke cooker top commissioned from world renowned Italian manufacturer DeManincor.

A striking private spa sits at the centre of the building, with the icing on the cake being the L-shaped swimming pool. In addition to a counter-current system, the pool has various massage zones and two large fountains. There are both an indoor and two outdoor Jacuzzis, a large mosaic-tiled steam room and a barrel sauna. Seating areas, rain shower and fibre optic "night sky" lighting complete the space. From the spa, a corridor leads to the elevated studio, ideal for Pilates and yoga. There is also a massage room there.

Please note: Alpine holiday home La Maison (sleeps 12) and adjacent "Owner's Residence" (sleeps 4 + 4) can be taken separately. Prices are based on the exclusive use of the chalets including full gourmet catering, open bar and in-resort chauffeur service.

Infos/Activities

Morzine is set high in the valley of the River Dranse at an altitude of 1,000m in the Northern Alps. A beautiful Alpine village, Morzine has a bustling centre and is packed with great facilities. With fabulous restaurants and bars, a weekly market, ice rink, swimming pool and ski joering - all perfect for keeping the whole family entertained.

The skiing resort Morzine can be found between Lake Leman and Mont Blanc. Part of the vast Les Portes du Soleil ski area pittoresque Morzine has kept its 11th century Savoyard look where you will find traditional wooden luxury ski chalets with slate roofs which makes you feel like you are in a real Alpine village rather than a large man-made ski resort. Previously ruled over by the Dukes of Savoie it is now part of the Haute Savoie region of France.

Most of the ski resorts in Les Portes du Soleil have grown around traditional valley villages - only Avoriaz and the very small Les Crosets and Torgon were purposely built during the mid-sixties. Morzine and Châtel are the largest of the traditional towns in the area. As a whole the skiing is relatively low in altitude compared to most French destinations.

The highest skiing is just below 2,500 metres and the lowest approximately 900 metres. However, the area is heavily influenced by the microclimate between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, which generates very substantial snowfall between November and April making it possible to keep the area open to skiing typically from early December until mid to late April. Some of the lower stations close around April 1 or earlier depending on snow conditions though.
