Description

The luxury and prestigious chalet Alpaca in Méribel is split over four floors to allow you to find your own perfect space. With 930sqm, Chalet Alpaca is the largest luxury ski chalet in Méribel. Perfect for families or friends to enjoy a luxury holiday in the French Alps. The main living area is a place to get together. It has double-height ceilings, and huge windows help make this a light and enticing space as light pours in and you gaze out to the mountains. Alpaca offers stunning views of the surroundings. A bar provides your pre- and post-dining drinks, with your meals enjoyed at a dining table that’s an architectural feature in its own right.

After dinner you’ll want to gather round the fire, or maybe head out to the terrace where an outdoor infinity pool and copper hot tub are warmed by a fire pit for the perfect way to end an Alpine day. A snowy playground in winter, a large south-facing garden is a sun trap for summer guests. With 14 guests staying in six individually styled en-suite rooms, this outstanding property in Méribel has some of the best spa, wellness and fitness facilities you’ll find in the region. Chalet Alpaca is a must if you are heading to the Haute Savoie.

It takes the classic Alpine chalet design and wonderful natural - and local - materials and mixes them with the latest in style and facilities innovation to create a whole that is both wonderfully up-to-date and timelessly stylish. An incredibly impressive master suite on the second floor features a stand-alone shower & bathtub, a lounge with wood burner where you can chill out or cozy up. There’s also a dressing room, and like all the bedrooms in Alpaca, there is balcony access, in this case to a private balcony with great views that are matched by those from the copper bathtub.

On the first floor you’ll find two twin/double bedrooms (one with private balcony) and a King-size bedroom. The sleeping accommodation is completed on the upper ground floor, where you’ll find a twin/double room with terrace access, and a bunk bedroom that’s great for youngsters. The design of this recently completed chalet has really been thought through. The master suite shares its floor with a second living area with a second open fireplace, library and office, that’s a place to stretch out and get some time alone. Most of the sleeping accommodation is on the same floor as the main living area and the large terrace.

That kids' room - with four fun bunks - is cheek-by-jowl with a wonderful games room, and can be combined with the double/twin to make a family suite. When you want to relax indoors you have so many options. A cinema and games room with pool table and pinball machine might be where the kids want to head. There’s more sophisticated chilling out to be found inside a large spa that includes a hammam, a sauna, massage room and rain shower. If you feel the need to work up a sweat - skiing aside - before you cool off then use the indoor climbing wall or a high-quality, fully equipped gym. The latest in-chalet entertainment systems include Sonos sound, Apple TV, and Wi-Fi on tap. A large garage means you can park in safety - and warmth - and enter and leave your property assured of your security.

The luxurious ski chalet Alpaca is in a private part of this beautiful French mountain community, with views down over one of the prettiest Alpine resorts as well as up to the mountain. Climb into a chauffeur driven limousine and you’re at the bars, boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants in five minutes. Zip up your ski suit and it takes you less than 100m walk to the excellent Doron Piste. Chalet Alpaca was only unveiled in 2017 but it's already creating a stir and is bound to be popular. A professional team will look after you to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN MERIBEL

Located in the middle of the Three Valleys - a ski area that boasts to be the largest in the world with over 600 kilometres of pistes - Méribel really does have something for everyone, a great family resort, fun nightlife for those who like to party and about all levels of skiers are catered for. There is a 25m swimming pool, gym, ice rink, cinema and more. Beginner's will find that Méribel is a great place to learn to ski, with a gentle nursery slope through the forest reserved especially for first timers. Then you can progress onto the green slopes of the altiport. The Méribel valley is in the centre of all the action. At the head of the Méribel valley you'll find Mont Du Vallon, at a height of 2,952m, the views are stunning and the ski down even more so.

The valley contains the DC and Moon Park, two of the best snowparks in Europe. With a beginner jump line, to a superpipe, and everything in between. Méribel has much more to offer - mysterious and beautiful forests, wooded chalets and sumptuous panoramas. Méribel Les Allues, normally just referred to as Méribel, is nothing less than a combination of elegance, tradition and modernity. A must: Take the Olympic chairlift and enjoy the the most beautiful panoramic views in Les Trois Vallées from the Roc de Fer peak: a 360 degree sweep over the summits of Mont Blanc, Pierra Menta, Grande Casse, Dent de Burgin, Les Ecrins, Les Aiguilles d’Arves… and a large part of Les 3 Vallées ski area!

RESTAURANTS & BARS IN MERIBEL

The mountain restaurant Le Clos Bernard is the perfect place to rest, recharge your batteries whilst enjoying marvelous food in a beautiful setting. L'Ekrin, a Michelin-starred restaurant not to Miss can be found right in the heart of Méribel. For those wanting to throw a party and be part of the most famous après ski in the French Alps - head to La Folie Douce ( from 2pm)

SKIING IN MERIBEL

The area of Méribel/Brides-les-Bains has 15 bubble lifts, along with 13 gondolas, 17 chairlifts, 8 drag lifts, 8 childrens lifts and 7 magic carpets. 150km of pistes (7 green runs, 26 blues, 26 reds, 8 black) and 28km of itinaries, 2 olympique runs, 2 slalom stadiums, 2 snowboard and ski parks. Méribel has 685 snowmachines (covering 42% of the area) allowing them to add snow cover if necessary.

There are plenty of blues and easy reds for the intermediate skier - from the nervous to the more skilled. As for advanced skiers with 600km of runs in the Three Valleys there is plenty to keep you busy: from the beautiful Mont Vallon at the end of the Méribel valley to the far side of Val Thorens and down into the fourth valley of Orelle with numerous black runs with bumps, some without. The "couloirs" are accessible from the Saulire lift on the Courchevel side.
