This 430sqm luxury chalet, in classic Alpine wood and stone construction reveals a fantastically up-to-date interior with the latest technology and design. Only completed in December 2016, Chalet Thanasis is a ski in/ski out skiing chalet that beautifully combines an opulent guest experience with the comfort, warmth and welcome of a family home. Set across four floors, and sleeping as many as eight adults and two children, the Alpine chalet Thanasis is located in the Jaillet Hill area. The historic and beautiful village center of Megève is within easy walking distance, with the ski lifts just a 10-minutes’ stroll away.

While the bright lights of one of France’s most exciting resorts are within sight as the sun goes down, this is also a place where one can be alone with one’s friends – it is both proximate and private. From the outside, Chalet Thanasis’ charms are obvious and timeless. It’s a building that could have been put up centuries ago and it fits perfectly into its beautiful surroundings. Inside, the dedication to excellence is just as evident. All of the rooms are decorated to accentuate comfort, coziness and warmth. While the chalet is new, the styling is very classic, with an emphasis on traditional materials – wood, stone, fur, leather – that create a naturally welcoming environment.

Ski in access is via the lower ground level, where a wonderfully equipped boot room welcomes you back home. A home cinema set-up in state of the art, while the bar, with its beautiful woodland views, invites you to make the most of the contents of the wine cellar. The ground floor is built around the spa and wellness area: a heated pool, sauna and gym are available to complement – and help you to recover from your winter sports activities. Outside, a hot tub takes the therapy outside, where stunning views can also be enjoyed from the large terrace that can also be accessed from the pool and the two double/twin rooms on this floor.

Level one is all about spending time together: the kids have their own playroom to go wild in, while the adults will want to spread out, relax and socialize in the large dining and living area. In classic Alpine style, huge windows bring light in and provide inspiring views out, inviting you to step out onto the terrace before returning to warm up round the two-sided fireplace. A TV nook is the perfect place to escape for some quiet time, while conversation and companionship will flourish around the circular dining table where gourmet food from your private chef is served.

Throughout, the colors are muted and tasteful, while showing inspired touches of French flair. This is certainly true on the top level of Chalet Thanasis, where the final two en-suite rooms await their lucky occupants. There is a large twin-double room with balcony, and at the top of the property is the master suite, with its own fireplace and the pick of the views – it’s a room worth fighting over.
