Chalet Des Sens wonderfully blends traditional design and materials with modern style and futuristic facilities. The main living and dining area is huge and hugely impressive, a real tour de force in French chic, Alpine comfort, and design excellence. A concert grand piano catches the eye first, before comfortable seating, a wood-burning fire and a big, big dining table draw you in to a space that just invites you to relax. Super-high ceilings make the most of the light that floods in through huge windows, opening out onto terraces with woodland and mountain views.

A party of 12 can enjoy this massive property of nearly 900sqm, with adults enjoying four superb en-suite double bedrooms. All the rooms are individually styled, but share the same theme – luxury and relaxation, with muted colors, soft furs and fabrics, and the best quality linens and bathroom products. The master suite boasts a dressing room and a huge screen with Apple TV. The wellness and leisure areas are so extensive that they command a whole floor. A huge Jacuzzi is closer to a small swimming pool in size than a bath, and a mineral spa is complemented by a North African-style hammam steam room – the current gold standard for Alpine steam treatments.

A gym will help you stay in trim, and when you just want to turn off you can tune in to the TV room or rediscover your inner child in the brilliantly equipped games room, with table football and pool the games menu. The cinema room really lives up to its name, with an enormous screen on which to enjoy the latest movies. The audio-visual equipment includes Sky TV, Apple TV, international (including Russian and Arabic channels) TV and Wi-Fi throughout. A smart, compact office is the place to head when you do need to check your messages.
