Ben Nevis / Les Gets
Living Area: 271 m2
Description
The luxury chalet penthouse Ben Nevis in Les Gets sleeps up to 8 adults and 4 children and has all the luxury features you can expect from a luxury chalet. You will find a bar area with pool table, steam room and a large terrace with enviable views of the pistes, a sauna and a hot tub. It is set in a new development in the centre of Les Gets.
Location is obviously a key consideration with any holiday home purchase and Ben Nevis couldn’t be better situated. It is right in the village, close to all the restaurants and bars, and just a five-minute walk in ski boots from the Chavannes lift, taking you right up into the Portes du Soleil. It’s an equally short walk to the Mont Chéry lift, which is our favourite place to start skiing on a bluebird day.
The apartment covers 271sqm set over two floors and comfortably sleeps eight adults in four large double rooms, plus four children in two single beds and a double sofa bed. There is one further sofa bed, so a maximum capacity of 14 is possible, if required. There are three dedicated underground parking spaces – two in a locked garage – and a boot room in the basement with heated wardrobes and boot racks.
Chill out in the bar area with a beer and a few games of pool, or soothe those aching muscles in the hot tub or sauna while taking in the sunset from the large terrace. There’s also a well-equipped kitchen, an indoor steam room and a comfortable lounge with large-screen TV with Netflix and Sky News. If that’s not enough, you can also use the facilities downstairs in the Les Sources du Chery spa for a fee (reduced rate for Ben Nevis guests, payable locally). There are two large pools, a kids pool, two large hot tubs and various treatment rooms and, being in the same building, you can take the lift down from the apartment.
Ben Nevis is perfectly located right in the heart of Les Gets. There are a number of great bars and restaurants within walking distance, a supermarket over the road and the views from the terrace across town to the Chavannes pistes are second-to-none. And of course the stunning Les Sources du Chéry spa, with its pools, hot tubs and treatment rooms, is right in the same building. It’s also just a five-minute walk to both the Mont Chéry and Chavannes lifts. Les Gets itself is only around an hour and twenty minutes from Geneva airport and there are three underground parking spaces for those who choose to drive.

Infos/Activities
Nestled at 1,172 metres altitude, in the heart of the Chablais massif, the resort of Les Gets is a natural, beautiful, preserved and lively holiday resort, where you simply feel good, where you feel "at home". As proof of this, the resort has been awarded the Qualité Tourisme label.
Dating back to the 11th century, the village cultivates an art of living in the mountains, an authenticity and friendliness that is much appreciated by the clientele. It also offers a rich cultural heritage, as well as a carefully selected wellness offer.
Wishing to promote soft mobility on its territory, the resort offers services to get around the village and its surroundings easily: covered car parks, free shuttles and a little train, electrically-assisted bicycles in summer, recharging points for electric cars...
Between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, 1 hour from Geneva airport, Les Gets is an integral part of the Franco-Swiss territory of the Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski areas in the world. Its location on a pass is ideal for exceptional sunshine in all seasons.
For the pleasures of skiing, there are two areas on either side of the resort with a wide range of technical facilities for experts and beginners alike, not forgetting special play areas for children and a snow front in the heart of the resort, from which you can set off on skis.
At nightfall, the village and the snow front are adorned with magical illuminations. A perfect time to stroll through the streets and do a bit of shopping. The shops are numerous and varied: sports and equipment hire shops, delicatessens offering local produce, clothing and decoration boutiques, restaurants, bars, etc.
Les Portes du Soleil is a major ski sports destination in the northern French Alps (Chablais Alps) encompassing 12 resorts between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland. With more than 650km of marked pistes and about 200 lifts in total, spread over 14 valleys and about 400 square miles Portes du Soleil ranks among the two largest ski areas in the world (the other being Les Trois Vallees). Almost all of the pistes are connected by lifts - only a few marginal towns can only be reached by the free bus services in the area. There are twelve resorts in the Portes du Soleil area, of which seven are French and five are Swiss.
Most of the resorts have grown around traditional valley villages - only Avoriaz and the very small Les Crosets and Torgon were purposely built during the mid-sixties. Morzine and Châtel are the largest of the traditional towns in the area. As a whole the skiing is relatively low in altitude compared to most French destinations. The highest skiing is just below 2,500 metres and the lowest approximately 900 metres.
However, the area is heavily influenced by the microclimate between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, which generates very substantial snowfall - with snow depths averaging up to eight metres a year - between November and April making it possible to keep the area open to skiing typically from early December until mid to late April. Some of the lower stations close around April 1 or earlier depending on snow conditions though.
