Description

Lodge Adler is one of the four Arlberg Lodges which were created when an old sawmill was converted in 2006. The long building was divided into four chalets, Adler, Bodensee, Christoph and Danube, to create some of the finest chalet accommodation in St Anton.

While Lodge Adler sleeps 10 in great comfort and privacy, the layout of the building lends itself well to larger groups wanting to take more than one lodge - we can accommodate up to 36 in en-suite accommodation and the shared balcony has an exterior fireplace where Gluehwein and canapés can be served to larger groups.

Lodge Adler has the largest bedrooms of the Arlberg Lodges and because it is situated on the valley end of the mill, it benefits from the best views of the valley and the Rendl mountain opposite. Lodge Adler has five spacious and beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms which are equipped with wide Austrian twin/double beds on polished wooden floors and a flat screen TV with DVD player. Every bedroom has a sofa or armchair making it comfortable to relax with a good book or DVD. The beds are wonderfully comfortable - 100cm wide and made with fluffy duvets and natural feather and synthetic pillows to guarantee you a great night's sleep. Every en-suite bathroom is spacious, stylish and has under floor heating. Rainforest showers and large baths offer total pampering.

All four lodges are similar in style, characterized by deep rich colors and a contemporary style, but maintaining a traditional chalet feeling in the wooden beams and floors. The large en-suite bedrooms (25-35 m2) are on the ground and lower ground floors. Two of the rooms benefit from balconies with wonderful views across the valley. The bathrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with modern Italian tiles. The baths and walk-in showers are huge, and the Zucchetti fittings lend a highly contemporary touch.

Upstairs, the superbly comfortable open plan living space has vaulted ceilings, deep sofas and a blazing log fire to create a real chalet or log cabin atmosphere. The flat screen TV can be used to watch a film, UK satellite TV, the footage from the day's skiing or to play on the Xbox 360. There is also an iPad for guests' use.

Please note, the industrial kitchen (staff only) is shared with Lodge Bodensee and is locked at night and during the day when staff are not present. However, there is a fully stocked drinks fridge, 2 ring hob and tea and coffee making facilities for guests to use at any time.

The fabulous Wellness area is also on the top floor. The sauna is ideal for relaxing aching muscles and, out on the roof, the outdoor hot tub allows you to relax and look up at the stars in complete privacy.

LUXURY SKI HOLIDAYS IN ST ANTON

For such a well-known ski resort, the village itself is surprisingly small and compact. Its pedestrianised main street offers a wide choice of cafés, bars and good quality traditional and international restaurants as well as street offers a wide choice of cafés, bars and good quality traditional and international restaurants. St Anton am Arlberg is the ski capital of Austria and one of Europe's best ski resorts. There are plenty of good dining options in St. Anton, and a walk through the village at night reveals a buzzing choice of bars and clubs with around 70 restaurants to choose from. The resort is a long, sprawling mixture of traditional and modern buildings crammed into a narrow valley. It used to sandwiched between a busy road and the mainline railway - but the railway was moved before the start of the 2000/2001 World Championship season, and this area is landscaped into a park and ice rink. St Anton is full of character, its traffic-free main street lined by traditional-style buildings. It is an attractively bustling place, day and night.

SKIING IN ST ANTON

Reliable snowfall and challenging skiing make St  Anton and the Arlberg a holy grail for advanced skiers but there is plenty of fun to be had by less experienced skiers and boarders too. St Anton is also renowned for great party atmosphere on and off the slopes, with several famous après ski bars strategically placed on the lower runs back to the village and a huge range of après-ski to choose from down in town. The Arlberg ski area and ski pass also include the ski resorts Lech and Zurs. The skiing and snowboarding terrain at St Anton consists of wide open treeless powder bowls, steep cliff drops and tight chutes, massive moguls, boundless linking groomed trails and gentle beginner areas. All the terrain is supported by a fast and efficient lift system. St Anton offers top quality skiing and boarding at high altitude with some of the best off-piste runs in Austria that are best tackled with a local guide. Steep and deep or mogulled runs off the top of the resort are what attracts the St Anton enthusiasts.

An award-winning new high speed lift recently replaced the Galzig Cable Car from the resort centre making access into the main area much quicker and there are some superb runs for keen intermediates. Whilst there are some beginner slopes directly above the resort, the area is best suited to strong intermediates and experts who will relish the challenge of St Anton’s steeper slopes whether covered in powder or bumps (fresh snow tracks out quickly). With the resorts of Lech, Zurs, Stuben and St Christoph all covered on the Ski Arlberg lift pass, there is no shortage of challenging skiing and snowboarding in this vast area. Snowboarders will also love the terrain as well as the half-pipe and freestyle park.
