This Val d’Isere Duo is a Magical Revelation

We know that many of you will be planning to enjoy Val d’Isere in the French Alps this winter – and if you haven’t, you really should experience arguably France’s finest ski resort – and we’re proud to add two magnificent new luxury chalets to our portfolio for the ski season, 2018/19.

Chalet Inoko, situated a 5-minute chauffeur drive to the north-east of the village center of Val d’Isere, is a symphony of tasteful understatement that combines the best Alpine traditions with Japanese-inflected interiors. Over three floors your group can spread out, relax and find their own space or come together in a stunning open-plan living and dining area that makes the most of the Alpine light.

The huge windows will have you longing to get outside to the slopes – or to the terrace hot tub, and fire pit.

The spa brings more healing water and steam to your stay, with an indoor swimming pool and sauna that you can supplement with massage or therapies in a dedicated massage room. When you want to step things up a bit then turn up the integrated sound system or dial up a film on Apple TV.

Chalet du  Crêt is just down the road, on the way to the lifts at La Daille, another signature property for Finest Holidays that offers you an immaculately designed guest experience in a beautiful former-monks’ farm. Some of the best dining and chicest bars are on your doorstep here. The rooms in Chalet du Crêt have been individually styled in a recent refurbishment.

Reflecting its former life as a dairy run by monks, du Crêt is packed with original architectural features, upon which has been painted a delicious layer of luxury, design excellence and the best facilities. That includes some lovely lighting effects, curated modern art, and enormous TV screens.

You’ll relax naturally here – especially if you have kids, this is a wonderful family chalet – and any help you need can be found in the spa, built around a north African-style hammam. Keep that feeling going outside as you sink into a terrace hot tub.

All this makes the most of a loving restoration that preserves the likes of the double-height ceilings in the master suite, aged wooden beams throughout, and even a chapel in the grounds.

Chalet Inoko and Chalet du Crêt both provide comfort and relaxation in beautiful spaces that will bring you together as friends, family or colleagues. Both can accommodate large groups, with accommodation for 12 people (with two additional children’s beds in Chalet Inoko). There are various service packages available: fully catered, self-catered or bed and breakfast.

Val’s 300km of slopes bring in serious ski lovers, especially those who love powder snow. There have been some important developments last winter, including a new underground travellator to the lifts. Not that this famous former-Olympic hosting village needed much to improve it. French cuisine, style, shopping and socializing are as naturally a part of a Val d’Isere ski season as they are of an afternoon on the Champs Elysees. The two-Michelin starred L’Atelier d’Edmond is the top of the tree, but the definitive restaurant guide’s pages for the resort are packed with wonderful places to eat. The Folie Douce and Dick’s Tea Bar are both après venues that have world-wide reputations. After a day’s skiing and maybe a couple of drinks, a beautiful home to return to is the icing on the cake of your ski holiday.
