Published on 05/06/2016 by Finest Holidays - Luxury Travel
Summer in Mallorca is the stuff that dreams are made of. The Balearic paradise island has it all: exclusive beach clubs and Michelin-starred restaurants, stunning seas and deserted beach coves, and exciting, sophisticated nightlife. You’ll find Villa Unica, a five-bedroom property for up to 10 guests, in Puerto Andratx, the island’s most sophisticated resort, a favourite with visiting Hollywood stars. Villa Unica perches on the mountainsides above the marinas and exclusive restaurants of Puerto Andratx, enjoying wonderful views of Cala Llamp bay, the Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains and Ibiza beyond.
Finest Holidays‘ one-of-a-kind Villa Unica is in the exclusive Las Brisas development, a high security holiday destination with just one access road protected with 24-hour security. The villa is modern and finished to incredible standards. The best local craftsmen have used the very finest materials from across Europe – notably multi-coloured marble and old wood – to create interiors that are at the same time wonderfully luxurious yet homely and welcoming. The interior design is modern, with sleek, clean lines and bright, light colours that bring natural sunlight flooding in to the villa in the traditional Mediterranean way.
There are five bedrooms. Three en-suite rooms in the main house, one double room with a shared bathroom. There is a guest apartment – perfect for staff or independent teens – with an en-suite bedroom, its own living area and kitchen. The latest centralised entertainment system takes sound and vision to all parts of the villa and to the exterior, where you can enjoy music under the stars with an infinity pool with wonderful views out to sea. There is air conditioning and underfloor heating throughout, including the large open-plan living, dining and relaxation area on the ground floor.
Outside there is a dining area, shaded seating and sunset relaxation area, and that infinity pool, making the most of Villa Unica’s fantastic sea views. The three terraces provide over 100sqm of covered outdoors space with two uncovered terraces. The pool is 56sqm with a 23sqm pool house. To keep you fit while you stay there is a modern gym. An office keeps you in touch with your working life. The Villa is fully protected, serviced and maintained while you stay. There is discreet security in the Las Brisas development, with 24-hour on-call guards. 24/7 concierge service. Cleaning, gardening and technical maintenance staff also visit regularly and are on call.
Puerto Andratx is well known in luxury travel circles, a sophisticated international resort of marinas, harbour-side bars and restaurants. There are small, exclusive beaches in the immediate vicinity, with beautiful, clear waters to enjoy. The town – not much more than a village really – maintains the air of a working fishing port as well as one of Europe’s most exclusive luxury destinations.
This area of Mallorca is very beautiful. Off shore is the island of Sa Dragonera, a protected natural park. Inland is the La Trappe nature reserve with its ancient monastery and wonderful walking country. The island is also a favourite with cyclists, and is used as a training base by the international champion Team Sky. A modern 18-hole golf course is just down the road in Camp de Mar.
Among the best local restaurants are Rocamar, a seafront fish restaurant, Villa Italia, serving modern French/Italian cuisine, and LIMON y CHELO, which is part of a local cultural centre where you can enjoy live music while you dine.
