Incredible New Gstaad Chalet

Incredible New Gstaad Chalet

Published on 14/12/2015 by Finest Holidays - Luxury Travel

This stand-alone luxury chalet at the heart of one the most famous resorts in the Alps is waiting for parties of up to 14 people to make it their own this winter. Chalet Aflabim – now available through Finest Holidays – is wonderfully designed, mixing the best of the traditional and the modern, and making the most of its superb location.

While right in the center of Gstaad, Chalet Aflabim has plenty of space around it. It looks inviting and impressive in a raised situation with a large, well-planted garden. It’s an impression that is confirmed as soon as you enter through the large private garage, through the spacious ski room.

Alpine design fits Alpine conditions perfectly. There’s no need to throw away centuries of knowledge to achieve an exciting modern effect. That’s the philosophy at Aflabim, where traditional strengths – wood, fine stone, soft fabrics – are allied with clean, modern lines, acres of space, a fabulous color palate and oodles of design flair. Even the garage has been beautifully styled!

Most of the bedrooms are collected on the ground floor. There are two doubles, sharing a bathroom and each with terrace access; an en-suite twin bedroom; and a two-person staff room. On the first floor are two en-suite bedrooms, with two double bedrooms sharing a bathroom on the top floor. Chalet Aflabim, Gstaad, bedroom2

The ground floor also hosts a large entertainment area with fab retro style seating, huge sofas and an even bigger TV screen.

The first floor is the main living and dining area. The living room is sunken, its focus on a large coffee place and an open fire. Up to 12 can be served at the dining table, and there is more seating in the kitchen for less formal occasions.

Gstaad is a byword for luxury with a tradition of attracting the wealthy and discerning that stretches back to the 19th century.

Today, those visitors are served with fantastic luxury shopping – Louis Vuitton, Moncler, Cartier – world-class dining and entertainment. And, of course, the thing that brought them here in the first place, superb skiing.

The town’s Chesery provides top quality French haute cuisine and has a lot of fans. Le Grand Bellevue has a Michelin-starred restaurant and a sushi bar. For a taste of old Gstaad head to The Posthotel Rössli.

In case you also want to dine somewhere else in Gstaad instead of being pampered by your own personal chef, we would like to recommend “Le Grand Bellevue”: pictured are the sushi bar, Restaurant “LEONARD’s” (awarded one Michelin star and 14 Gault et Millau points), external view of Restaurant “Le Petit Chalet”, seating just 20 diners and famed for serving traditional regional dishes such as fondue and raclette

Gstaad is a bit too stylish for wild parties, but the après ski scene is as stylish as you’ll find anywhere.

The Palace Hotel will be on everyone’s agenda, if only to see where the cream of Hollywood – most notably Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor – watched the best musicians in the world. Today, the hotel’s GreenGo nightclub is one of the resort’s hotspots. Owner Bernie Ecclestone might be in sitting at the Pinte bar in Hotel Olden.
